What to Expect
In kids@WestEnd we are serious about safety and fun! We want to come alongside you, as the parent, to lead our children to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the weekend, our children 6 weeks – 5th grade will experience a great time at church with a space, activities, music, and Bible stories designed just for them. We know our children will experience God’s love through our team, and they will want to come back!
Join us Sundays at 11:00am or 5:00pm!
Parent / Child Dedication
When a family comes to a place where they decide to raise their young children to follow Jesus, we celebrate, support, and pray for the family during one of our church services. Please schedule a Parent/Child Dedication meeting with Alyssa Kelley to get on the schedule.
Deciding to follow Jesus is the most important decision your child will ever make. The next step for him/her is to be baptized. Please attend a Children’s Baptism Class to meet with a ministry leader about their decision.
When you volunteer in our Children’s Ministry, you make a difference in the lives of families. We have a variety of jobs and time commitments.
What Your Kids Are Learning
6 weeks – Pre-K
My First Look, created for children 18 months to 5 years, keeps it simple and fun, repeating one basic truth about God all month long. First Look helps children understand worship and introduces them to small group time. We even share additional tools like activity ideas and conversation starters for parents to use with their children at home. Here is some info. about what your child is learning this month:
August Bottom Line: God’s way is perfect.
Memory Verse: “God’s way is perfect.” 2 Samuel 22:31, NIrV
Early Childhood Worship Songs:
“B-I-B-L-E” “Hosanna Rock”
“One Two Three”
Kinder – 5th Grade
Our program is designed to engage elementary students in a high energy and fun environment. At first, our students are engaged in activities during ‘hang out’ while they get to know some friends and their leaders. Then, we move to our large group environment where we sing great music, play games, celebrate birthdays, give and offering, and hear an interactive true story from the Bible. Finally, our students break up into groups of 10 or less with a leader to talk about how to live out their faith. See below for what your child is learning and singing this month!
August Life App: Wisdom—Finding out what you should do and doing it
August Bottom Line: If you want to be wise, search for wisdom, look before you leap, hang out with wise people, and trust God to give you wisdom.
Memory Verse: “If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you.” James 1:5a, NIrV
Kinder – 5th Grade Worship Songs:
“Jesus You’re My Superhero” “My Lighthouse”
“When your children feel safe and are having fun, they are more open to understanding that God made them, loves them, and wants something amazing for their life. That’s what our ministry to children is about.”
Alyssa Kelley, Children's Director
